Kind of "sometimes bad things just happen".Nichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16727532959085891390noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2964930127582946260.post-45530395523324411902009-04-27T13:12:00.000+10:002009-04-27T13:12:00.000+10:00That threw me a bit. Even just reading the blurb on the back of the book gave me the impression that Lily was not the culprit, but as I kept reading I sort of half expected that it would turn out to have been Lily in the end. I guess it was good though, because when I started the book I thought 'oh here we go, poor downtrodden Cinderella character who is totally innocent and who will triumph against evil in the end....' which I thought would have been rather dull. Even Lily, didn't believe it was her.
But perhaps that was meant to make Lily a more real character, not all questions are answered in life and not all endings are happy and conclusions reached. I didn't really like Lily, so was kind of glad that she didn't get the answer she was expecting.
T Ray obviously had other issues that he hadn't dealt with and probably should go and see a counsellor.Hettie Bettyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03499575902455855949noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2964930127582946260.post-20692748893769247442009-04-27T13:00:00.000+10:002009-04-27T13:00:00.000+10:00At the end of the novel T.Ray tells Lily that she ...At the end of the novel T.Ray tells Lily that she was responsible for her mothers death - it was not suicide or murder. Do you believe him? Were you disappointed not to know definitively who killed Lily's mother?PJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03897188434866907438noreply@blogger.com
